Amber Court,
This summer the weather has been from one extreme to another and in June and July we saw some very hot days! We decided to take cooling down in to our own hands. Handing out ice lollies to all our residence and staff here at Amber Court. These went down a treat, with our residence and staff enjoying a cool refreshing break from the heat.
In August at Amber Court we released our inner Willy Wonka by having a chocolate tasting activity. First the residents chose what flavour chocolate they wanted, from milk, White, and Dark. Then got to choose what companied their chocolate, either, Mixed nuts, raisins, dried berries and cherries, rock salt, honey, or peanut butter. Everyone tried a few different selections of the chocolates and extras. Enjoying releasing their inner Willy Wonka and experimenting with new tastes and combinations!
Violet Court,
Violet court saw their flowers blossom in the garden and the pots that were placed out of the front of the building. The residents have taken great pride to make their outdoor spaces inviting for all to enjoy. Some of the sunflowers have grown over 8ft!
We have been able to maintain out Walking club throughout the summer and have had some varied walks around Olympic park venturing out a little bit further every time. All that have been involved have enjoyed the experience and we have seen individual fitness levels improve!
Fundraising!
We are now in preparation for our own 1.7 mile walk on Thursday 30th September to support our management team on their 17 mile walk for Dementia UK in October.
